Backstory

After the ratification of our newly formed peace treaty with our South Korean brothers, the US begun pushing harder for us to immediatly start the process of dismantling our nuclear arsenal. While we were initially willing to do so, the US and its international band of bullies in the UN had not yet made good on the security guarantees we demanded and ultimately were promised in return. The political rethoric (read: threats) coming from Washington only ended in our Supreme leader ordering a final test of our largest nuclear bomb yet, to once and for all show that any sort of military action against us, would not end well for anyone.

Crisis struck during the test however, the guidance on our missile failed, and overshot its intended target in the Sea of Japan, hurtling into Mutsu bay and detonating upon impact catching the Japanese city of Aomori in the blast radius.

The nuclear bomb's yield was around 500kt, 350kt more than we've ever tested in the past, the city was devestated with thousands dead, and tens of thousands injured. Needless to say, Japan and its people became furiously enraged, demanding the immediate invasion and occupation of North Korea to forcibly remove all nuclear materials and weapons from our nation.

While our pleas declaring it an accident fell on deaf ears as far as Japan and the US were concerned, South Korea, along with China and Russia reluctantly believed us. Despite that, China officially revoked its guarantee of independence to us, it also led to both China, Russia mobilizing to secure their borders, citing that any further reckless experiments will not be tolerated.

South Korea however, while greatly upset and on the brink of cutting all ties, ended up declaring that it would remain neutral in any conflict against us in fear of the extreme amount of weapons still stationed near the old DMZ, and also wanting to avoid shattering the newly created peace treaty between our two nations.

As you can all imagine, the US did not take this lightly, as any invasion against us would now have to begin with creating a beach-head from which to invade.

Regardless, Japan declared that, accident or not, a nuclear "attack" on their soil, would not go unanswered, and demanded Washingtons aid, through the "Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security Between the United States and Japan"

19 hours ago, Japan and the United States of America, with massive and coordinated air and missile strikes, declared open war on North Korea.

Situation

Air raids and missile strikes have been hammering the Mainland hard, striking both our primary nuclear and ballistic missile launch sites, aswell as other military installations across the nation. We believe they are attempting to soften us up before any land invasion will occur, it is at this time unknown how long the deep air support and air interdiction will last before they begin their attempted landings.

With South Korea neutral in this conflict, the enemy is not only starved of land access to our soil, but also the South Korean airspace and their air bases, as of now most are carried out from Japan, which is currently overloading their airfields. We believe they will now begin to upgrade old airfields on islands in the Sea of Japan, and possibly attempt to invade some of our outlying islands in the Yellow Sea, so that they can more effectively carry out their air strikes.

For now, we will be focusing on preventing that from happening.

[ACT 1] 06.05.2018 =Completed :: Success=

Mission

We're deploying to Isla Tembeland in the Sea of Japan, it is an old japan airbase, that via an old de-confliction treaty was never allowed to station newer aircraft on the island.

Some loopholes in the treaty however did see the island airports infrastructure upgraded, and we now expect the enemy to attempt to bring the airbases on the island into action.

See to it that they are summarily dismantled before the enemy can make use of them.

In terms of enemy force multipliers, 80's-00's era ground vehicles, possibly upgraded, along with 60-70's era aircraft.

More details to follow in upcoming operation briefings.

Our own Naval Battlegroup's anti-air capability is currently the only thing preventing the Japan Air Self-Defense Force from launching fixed-wing aircraft against us, and recent intel indicates that in response to our presence near the island, the USAF have dispatched bombers with anti-ship missiles, along with fighter and tanker support. We expect we'll have time for about 4 operations, before our own Navy will have to retreat, leaving us without air-defense.

At that point, we'll either decide to retreat with them to maintain our ground and aerial assets for future operations, or we'll attempt to endure the inevitable air-strikes until we manage to complete our objectives on the island (Read campaign brief ACT 1 objectives)

Completion of the ACT1 objectives, will reduce air-strikes in upcoming acts.

Objectives

  • Establish a beach-head
  • Ensure the destruction of the 2 Primary airfields

AAR

You successfully managed to destroy the airfields, and in the nick of time aswell. The US/Japanese forces will no longer be able to utilize this island as a staging area for air-strikes into the mainland.

[ACT 2] 10.06.2018 =Completed :: Success=

Mission

We've been transported to Panthera, to aid our friendly forces in the defense of the island.

US Forces launched a massive invasion of the south western part of the small archipelago a few days ago. Fighting has been intense with significant losses inflicted on our forces, therefore multiple battalions has been sent to reinforce Panthera, ours is amongst them, and our primary goal is to prevent the US forces from securing the island.

We've decided to utilize scorched earth tactics. Whatever they take from here on out, we blow up and destroy. this includes any infrastructure and assets. At the very least this will prevent them from using our bases and equipment against us in the future.

The island is of strategic importance to us though, as we launch our combat air patrols from Panthera, so while our scorched earth tactics will prevent them from utilizing said airfields, it will also make the situation even worse on both the mainland and at other islands in the waters between Japan and North Korea

Completion of the ACT2 objectives, will aid in air superiority for ACT3

Objectives

  • Prevent the US from taking Panthera.

AAR

The US forces on the island lost their momentum early on in one bloodbath of a battle, it was followed up with surgical strikes against the few airfields under their control. Thanks to the lack of AA assets the US were fielding, they could all be targeted in one go, and with that we gained a large advantage. The last planned assault on the airfield ended up without a single shot fired, as the runways the US needed for reinforcements were obliterated by ballistic missile strikes, and they promptly withdrew.

[ACT 3] 24.06.2018 = Completed :: Success=

Mission

You've been added as an element in the assault on Isla Abramia, this island is key to our plans in the region and your success on Tembeland and Panthera will make reaching our goals here easier.

No enemy fixed wing will be present on the island

Objectives

  • Classified, details will become available as you progress. Refer to individual deployment briefings.

AAR

Our objective on this island turned out to be to fire nuclear missiles with Tochka-U's at Japan, due to the proximity of Isla Abramia to the northern coast of Japan itself.

We succeded in this task, forcing the japanese to surrender, but it seems that the US decided to retaliate with nukes of their own. Due to our forces efforts in their last mission on the island, we prevented some of the US forces stationed on the south western part of the island from evacuating.. This prevented the US from nuking their position, and by extension, our position. We've lost all contact with our FOB on the island, but we've found safe areas in and near Yolandi. I have sincere doubts however that any friendly forces are coming to evacuate us though.

Our initial attack will be on the Besar Airbase and the small town of Bagain.

Besar will allow us to use the enemies own infrastructure to bring in and launch our own air support and we're securing Bagain since it's in an easily defendable location (refer to the below image)

We've made our initial landing on Kasur Island, from there we will be moving east to secure our objectives. Topographical data shows that both the airbase and the town is accessible from Kasur, due to shallow waters in the area that allows us to cross, even with our non-amphibious vehicles. (might be slightly too deep for infantry, recommend utilizing vehicles to get them across fast. Also check attached image for shallow waters)

The enemy is unfortunately alerted to our presence, and have most likely set up a line of defense as Bagain. As for the shores near the airbase, no defenses have been spotted from Kasur. Therefore we suspect the enemy might have mined the forest around the base itself. It'll be up to you wether or not you'll flank around and use the roads where any mines will be easier to spot, or utilize an EOD team to force your way trough the forest.

On another note, we also believe there are still a good amount of enemy aircraft stationed at the airbase, we suspect however that they will begin to fly them out and away as soon as they're able, so move fast if you want to aquire additional assets.

As mentioned previously, we consider the town of Bagain to be of tactical importance, due to its location. It will offer a chokepoint if the enemy attempts to mount a counter-attack, as for ROE regarding civillians, don't waste your ammo needlessly, if they get in the way, use whatever measures you deem necessary to "remove" them. The structures are also yours to demolish, if you feel the rubble will provide better defense.

We expect we'll have time for about 4 operations, including this one, before our own Navy will have to retreat, leaving us without air-defense.

With a foothold secured on the island, we've been tasked to push up along the main road leading to the city of Lapangan and beyond. The purpose of this, is to gain ground close enough to the airports to hit them with our BM-21 Grads.

You will move up to and past the 98th Mechanized, which after heavy fighting against the QRF earlier, ended up losing their ammo truck. If possible lend them your ammo truck until they can get a replacement.

Once you pass the 98th you'll be close to the frontline, push forward and dismantle their defensive lines, whilst you repell any counter-attacks. We expect the USMC to be the primary ground fighters at this particular stage, utilizing the JASDF as support.

the 105th armored, along with their accompanying infantry division, is currently setting up a defensive line at the northern-most road on the island, just north of Hill 357. At Hill 357 itself, and down south towards the castle of Hancur puri is where our recon forces, the 162nd is located. They've been scouting ahead and confirmed a few AA and AT positions in and around Lapangan aswell as a heavy defensive line at the factory "Pembawa".

Also be mindful of the forested hills south of Toko Tempat, the extremely dense forests of Tembeland allows for enemy forces to close the distance without being spotted. This however, works both ways.

Reaper especially, is advised to pay extra good attention to the topography of the AO to prevent them from entering the anti-aircraft envelope, the Type of AA utilized by the enemy aswell as the amount, will require careful flying to keep our assets intact.

Push as far as you can towards lapangan, then dig in and secure your position.

The time has come to attempt to strike at one of the airfields, in this operation your primary objective is to utilize the BM-21 grad's you've been given, to launch an artillery strike at the southern airfield.

You'll be moving down past Southern lapangan, and the forested areas south west of the town, to the airfield and resort of Tepi Pantai.

The USMC has a small military base on the peninsula, and have most likely deployed troops into the forests of the peninsula, therefore a thorough sweep is required to completely root out the enemy, but keep in mind that this in itself is not your objective.

Once the resort or airfield has been reached, prepare your MLRS's to fire, but keep in mind that once you do, you should be expecting the enemy to utilize counter-battery artillery strikes, and air assaults in a attempt to destroy them. plan accordingly.

Your secondary objective is to perform a quick sweep of Southern Lapangan, to ease the load from the 147th Infantry, as an added benefit there are two designated point of interest in the town, that may provide something useful.

    • The road going trough Lapangan, heading south west needs to be sweeped
    • Ensure the military base on the peninsula is destroyed
    • Reach the Tepi Pantai Resort or Airfield
  • Bring our BM-21's to Tepi Paintai Resort or Airfield
    • Atleast 6 full Barrages are required to destroy the airfield
    • Be aware that the enemy will most likely employ counter-strikes with artillery and aircraft

Secondary

  • Once Lapangan is Reached, sweep trough the southern part of the city

Good job on disabling the southern airfield of Tembeland.

Unfortunately, we have a problem. After you returned to base, the 147th took control of the BM-21's and together with the 105th made a small push towards the airfield to get within range with the Grads. It seems however, that the enemy have been employing CIWS's at the airbases, and that the enemy understood that another barrage would be incoming on the northern airfield due to our frontlines proximity to it. They have thus decided to evacuate the biggest population hubs along with their CIWS's towards the north eastern island. We've confirmed 2 additional Centurion based CIWS's has been moved to the airfield and its surrounding bases and town, with a possibility of a 3rd one, to protect them from any future strikes. Couple that with the fact that the airbase allready had 2 in its area, we now have 4 confirmed, possibly 5 CIWS's on the north western part of the island. Any Rocket strikes while those CIWS's are operational have been deemed counter-productive. They need to be eliminated.

The southern airfield however has been confirmed disabled, due to the sheer amount of rockets we fired and us being within range, the single CIWS that was located at the southern airfield at the time, seems to not have been able to overcome the amount of individual rockets raining down.

Additional notes: Night will be falling towards the end of the mission, plan accordingly.

Our first order of buisness is to defend against a USMC push trough the valley on the western part of Panthera. 8th infantry will be holding the other avenue of approach to the north, leaving us to defend our assigned AO by ourself.

Expect heavy assaults from the enemy, they have the full initiative after their first attack, and are not going to risk giving it up easily, as such we suggest you utilize any and all tactics to slow them down and destroy them, deploy fast and setup ambushes, mines, fortified positions and the like. and hold the lines. Our own combat engineers may have setup some initial defenses along the valley, if you find them, take advantage.

Since your success at Tembeland made it harder for the enemy to field air units, we can expect our own air units to be given some breathing room. use that to your advantage, prep and plan ahead resupply mission. maybe even pre-emptively to have supplies waiting at the next line of defense should you loose one. While enemy air presence is reduced, do not expect it to be completely removed however, continous CAP may be prudent.

    KAC - ACT2: Ballistic Strike - Situation

After our successful defense of our assigned AO from the USMC attack, we've broken the US forces momentum for the time being, we've sustained heavy losses, and lost some ground doing so, but as of now we have been able to lock down the valley's leading into the Pantheran heartland by heavily mining the valleys and surrounding peaks.

Since we now hold the initiative, we'll be using it to perform a counter-strike at the anti-air locations defending the USMC controlled airfields. We suspect that the reason they have not expanded their AA umbrella much after their initial assault, is due to a lack of AA equipment. This gives us a vital opportunity to attempt to make their umbrella collapse altogheter, giving us a significant advantage.

As you might have guessed, this will not be easy however, as the AA positions are within enemy territory, and thus under heavy guard.

Making matters worse, the 41st had to endure an unexpected aerial assault on their assigned AO, and was forced to pull back, leaving behind vital assets for this mission. As such, our first order of buisness is to retrieve said assets, 2 vehicles of the 9P129-1M Tochka-U Tactical Ballistic Missile Launchers variant.

If we manage to locate and secure these launchers, our hunt for the enemy AA positions will hopefully be much easier.

You ought to keep in mind however, that the launchers are most likely scheduled for demolition, so time is of the essence, and any usage of them could result in a aerial counter-assault, prepare accordingly.

    Additional Notes:

21st Squadron will be flying CAP for the duration of the mission, so enemy fixed-wing presence will most likely be a non-issue for your teams.

The Tochka-U's require an ammo truck and quite a bit of time to reload.

There is a lot to do, and not a lot of time to do it. keep moving, and use any advantage you have to get things done fast.

Securing the position you find the Tochka-U's in, may allow you to move to Phase 2 sooner, but might make it harder to defend them.

There is a storm on the horizon

    Launchers: RShG-2, RPG-26, RPG-7V2, 9k38 IGLA

    Objectives

    Primary

    • Destroy the 3 AA Positions in US held territory.
      • Secure 41st's abandoned 9P129-1M Tochka-U's
        • Use forward recon to get target locations
      • If all else fails, attempt to take them out with a ground assault.
        • May need aircraft to circumvent minefields.

    Secondary

    • Recapture lost territory on the north western island
      • Search and destroy the majority of the enemy forces.

    Welcome to Abramia.

We're putting you straight to work with clearing out an enemy stronghold in the area before they are able to reinforce it.

The isle in question is well guarded, and needs to be approached with care, as they are sure to have bunkers and patrols across the AO. These are sure to pose a threat to you if not spotted early.

The main target however is an old mental asylum, located in what is now a ruined castle located smack in the middle of the island. It even has a moat, so plan your approach carefully. Additionally there are bound to be smaller "outposts" on the island, and these will need to be destroyed aswell.

The offensive started well, all the eastern islands have mostly been secured, with some stragglers left on the south eastern island, and the enemy forces in the north have fallen back to their FOB at the small Airfield of Vucco to rest and refit.

Our forces in the north will be ready to attempt a push further west at midnight, but they are worried that the enemy will have had the time to rearm their forces by then, as we've learned that a large convoy is setting up to resupply their rear supply depot within a few hours.

As such we've been given the assignment of making sure that convoy's contents is never utilized against us. You'll be deployed behind enemy lines to scout out a good location for an ambush and destroy every last piece of that convoy.

Keep in mind to keep air elements flying low in the vicinity of Vucco until you're about to assault the convoy, as it may provoke them to send out scouting parties to determine what is going on.

The start of the operation will be signalled by artillery fire from our northern forces destroying the Radar Dome at Mt. Spidee.

Also keep in mind that early detection may jeopardize the mission, so be sure to take out any patrols that spot you quickly, and expect Quick-Reaction Forces to be deploying against you if/when you assault either the primary or secondary objective.

    Good luck peasants.

    Additional Notes:

    Night time mission.

Full moon, little to no overcast.

May need to utilize flares and pre-planned coordinates for CAS and ammo drops instead of smoke.

After you destroyed the supplies and armor support intended to resupply and reinforce the enemy force in the north, they where forced to fall back. Our own forces now control most the eastern areas and roads leading up to the town of Pepinal.

In the south our forces are having a bit more trouble, they've secured themselves a beachhead thanks to air support from reaper, and are trying to move towards the Yolandi Airport and its accompanying town, but have met hard resistance from the garrison there.

We'd hoped we had been able to secure more of the island by now, but since our forces got bogged down in the mental asylum castle, we where unable to help our southern forces push further early on, and at this point we do not have time to reinforce them.

The reason we're short on time however, is that we've focused a great deal of resources ensuring the Korean Aegis operation will be successful, and as such other fronts have suffered. So much so that if we are to have any hope of forcing a cease-fire at this point, Korean Aegis needs to succeed.

Due to your track record in the operation so far, your platoon has been assigned a key role in our final stage of the operation. You'll be deployed to Camp Fisher aproximately 1 click south west of your last AO, further up into the mountains. We have actually had assets in place here from before the war began, preparing and waiting for the right time to enact our plan. As such Camp Fisher is by now, thanks to our engineering corps, special forces and undercover agents, heavily fortified.

You'll be deploying there at 03:00 in the morning, and begin helping in final preparations of our defenses.

You will get a more detailed brief in person by Sentinel when you arrive.

    Message

Our nuclear assault resulted in surrender of Japanese forces and allowed us to force any and all coalition forces stationed there to stand down aswell as part of the terms of surrender. With few bases left in the pacific west to operate from, the US forces in the area will have a much harder time continuing their assault on the North Korean mainland.

Unfortunately the US has still not backed down completely, and here on Isla Abramia they are regrouping their forces near Yolandi, their last stronghold on the island. We expect them to attempt to launch a massive counter-attack soon to prevent us from launching any other missiles towards japan from Abramia.

We hold the initiative however, and will double our efforts to rout them from the island completely so we can continue using abramia to hold Japan hostage, in the hopes of giving us an upper hand against the US in the negotiations of a cease-fire.

Our south-eastern forces assaulted Yolandi whilst you where holding Camp Fisher, keeping the forces there occupied to reduce the enemy response against our launches there, our forces where ultimately pushed back. The US have since regrouped there as mentioned previously, meaning there will now be even tougher resistance there.

Coordinating with our other forces we've been assigned the task of assaulting Yolandi from the north, whilst our other available forces will once again attempt an attack from the east.

Insert near Belucco, then take out any enemies along the way as you move into position north of Yolandi, and then assault the northern defensive line there with everything you got.

Be mindful however, the enemy have also concentrated the last of their anti-air assets on the island in and around Yolandi.

    Message

The North Koreans prevented some of our own forces from evacuating from Isla abramia before our retaliatory nuclear strikes landed upon the small archipelago, this forced us to re-route the warhead heading for Yolandi, to give our forces a chance to get to safety before any fallout started raining down over the city.

The rest of the warheads hit their intended targets however, ensuring that the vast majority of korean forces on the island where wiped out, and most areas outside Yolandi should now be considered radioactive hellscapes.

We where unsure if any of our forces actually survived, until we got a transmission from the nuclear shelter at the Mt. Ferro military base. The information we recieved indicated that about 42 survivors regrouped at the airfield of Yolandi immediatly after the nukes fell, they where all intending to head to the shelter, but after a large dust storm kicked up, they got seperated and lost, only 7 people reached the nuclear shelter.

They suspect however that due to their proximity to the town, the other 35 survivors may have attempted to seek refuge in Yolandi itself. While not ideal, both the small military base, and the hospital in the town, would provide rudimentary protection against the fallout.

Unfortunately, we lost contact shortly thereafter, the last transmission was panicked calls for immediate aid, saying enemy forces had found them.

You'll be deploying from your Spec-ops carrier, the USS Spectre, in an attempt to find and retrieve as many survivors as you can. We'll insert you near the Military base of Mt. Ferro, and thus your first objective will be to find the entrance to the nuclear fallout shelter and re-establish contact. Be aware however, that because of the aformentioned intel there is a good chance that on top of all this, we may just have a hostage situation aswell.

Consider the shelter to be occupied by enemy forces, and that they may have hostages.

After you've secured the shelter, move on to Yolandi and do a sweep of the town, your primary buildings to check are the bunkers of the military base on the western part of Yolandi, and the hospital located in the middle of the city. Do keep an eye out for any buildings that you think would be able to offer any protection against radiation thought, any survivor may have panicked and taken shelter just about anywhere they've deemed partially safe.

We'll be sending you in with specialized helicopters designed to atleast partially resist the radiation of the area. These assets will be on station for evacuating any survivors you find, aswell as yourself when you decide that any further search will be fruitless, or you reach the safety dead-line. You'll have 2 hours in the area before we'll be forced to pull you out. Extension MAY be authorized under some circumstances, but do not tarry, lest you want your future offspring to end up with... ...spare parts.

    Godspeed.

    Additional Notes:

    Dry lightning storm.

    Possibility of intense dust storms.

Without any protection, current radiation levels may lead to cardiac arrest within 2-3 minutes.

    Extra notes:

Under the Watch category, Bring a "Contamination Zone Detector"
Bring extra Uniforms/Helmets/facewear of the types above for any survivors, if you do not plan to extract them right away.

    Objectives

    Primary

    • Rescue survivors
      • Enter the Nuclear shelter in the Military base at Mt. Ferro
        • Vault entrance located in a bunker on the western part of the base
      • Look for survivors in Yolandi
        • Do a quick sweep of Yolandi to look for structures that may provide some protection from fallout and radiation
        • Regular buildings without windows, hospitals, bunkers may have allowed our people to have survived.

    Secondary

    • Kill any surviving enemy forces you encounter
      • Enemy might have some limited protection gear which allows them to stay outside for limited periods
      • BRDM's are designed to protect against radiation, chemical and biological threats.
